MOVEMENT OF WATER AROUND THE EARTH

The movement of water around, over, and through the Earth is called the water cycle, a key process of the hydrosphere. The Earth's hydrosphere consists largely of the oceans, but technically includes clouds, inland seas, lakes, rivers, and underground waters.

We all know that water occupies 71% of the Earth’s surface. Water is a component of living cells and every cell in a living organism is made up of almost 75% water that enables the cell to function normally. Life without water would not exist. Water gives habitat, meaning the hydrosphere gives a significant place for many animals and plants to exist. Water takes a long time to heat up and it also takes a long time to cool down, this is important in helping to control temperatures on earth so that they stay in a range that is suitable for life to exist. All living things would die if it weren't for water. We use water for drinking, washing, cleaning, cooking, and growing our food as well as many, many other things. Even more water is used by industries to generate electricity, manufacture things, and transport people and goods. Much of our fresh water is also used outdoors for watering lawns, flower beds, and vegetable gardens, as well as washing cars and filling swimming pools. We must be careful not to pollute the water that we use outside. Many people use chemicals on their lawns and gardens and then water them with pure water. The water will wash the chemicals off of your plants and then run down a storm drain and go straight to the rivers and streams where fish make their homes. This kind of polluted water can kill fish and wildlife. We should always be mindful of whether or not we are polluting the water around us. We need to take care of our water, not abuse it.

Every town and city, whether small or big, uses water. People living in the communities use water for fire fighting, street cleaning, and watering public areas such as parks, grass, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Water is also used to fill public drinking fountains, including those at schools and libraries. All of the different businesses in your community also use water. Think about all the water that is used by restaurants, hospitals, laundries, dry cleaners, hotels, car washes, beauty shops, barber shops, gas stations, and health clubs as well as all of the other businesses in town, these all add up to quite a big demand on water supply. We need to try to think about how many people need to use water and conserve our water so that there is enough to go around.

I conclude that hydrosphere is very important in our daily life. We need the water to live. All living things like animals, plants need water to survive. And all these things can be useful to us but we shouldn’t abuse but conserve this instead. When we use this properly, we help the environment by saving the fishes and other living organism, we save preserve drinking water for our everyday use. We also save energy and we save ourselves. Use water wisely and properly.

"All About Technology"

While first considering how to go about completing this assignment, I tried to keep in mind the one constant characteristic of technology: it is always changing. What is technology? General term used in the processes by which human beings fashion tools and Machines to increase their control and understanding of the material environment. Technology is changing everyday, and will forever be a staple in our lives. Even simple tasks like writing letters have changed dramatically over the past few decades. Twenty years ago, the postal system was the most common way for people to communicate through writing. Now people use e-mail, allowing them to communicate with anyone in the world at the click of a mouse. Other activities associated with writing have also made a shift to computers, condemning devices like the typewriter and the pencil to relative obscurity.

There is no escape from technology. In most cases this is not a problem though. Many people respect and admire technology because it is there to benefit them. Without the technological advances we have had over the years, the world would not be what it is today. Now we all know that technology has really changed our lives. There are lots of improvements we are now using because of technology. Our means of communication has greatly improved in the dawn of the modern technology. We now have so many hi-tech gadgets that we use for everyday communicating with people from all over the world. The telephone is a very helpful mean tool for us to talk with people from remote places, then came out the cellular phones, which we can take with us wherever we go. Now, we are given the privilege to use computers and the internet that has such a wide variety of easy communication offers. It is one of the reasons why we should be thankful for technology. There have been lots of advantages with technology when it comes to health. Our lives will never be the same again after the breakthroughs of many medicines and other discoveries. Lengthening our lives is very easy these days. We can choose whether we want to live a longer life, and there are certain methods for that. The production has also been increased. Now, we can create materials in just minutes with multiple productions at a time. This is what the modern machines contribute to our society.

Technological inventions seem to have improved our way of life, but they have caused many side effects that have a negative impact on the world as well. Although there have been many advances in technology in recent years, this technology has had a harmful effect on social interactions, health, and the environment. Technology has greatly changed the way people interact socially. Due to email and cell phones, it is now unnecessary to talk to someone face-to-face in order to make a business deal. This convenience can weaken business relationships, however, because interactions through texting and email can often be misinterpreted. The effect that technology has on our children has brought on some concerns and some praises. Children these days have no choice but to somehow be influenced by the ever growing technology in our societies. Technology can refer to so many things, but there are three main parts of technology that are having the greatest effects on our children: video games, television/media, and computers. Many children are hooked in video games that came to a point that they may take for granted their studies. Many of these technology which we are introduced to are made to make our life easier. For example computers are made to compress many technological pieces together that we can use to complete many different tasks. As these items help us with our everyday life, we become accustomed to them and they become necessary to have on us at all times. Although technology has changed our lives drastically, we should be aware of the social and moral consequences caused by such advanced innovations.
